Stairlifts, or chair lifts, are a great way to make it easier and safer to get up and down stairs. Our stairlifts are used by people from all walks of life and, working with Stannah (who have over half-a-million installations worldwide), we have the experience to help you make a good choice.
Most of our customers have looked into moving away to a new home or remodeling, but find that a Stannah stairlift is a quicker and more affordable solution.
We manufacture, install and service stairlifts with a choice of chairs, colors and options to suit your needs, lifestyle and budget.
Hildebrandt Mobility was founded in 2009 by Andrew Hildebrandt. Andrew had worked in the home-modification industry for over 10 years at that time and recognized the growing need for a quality company to provide stair lifts and home modifications in the St. Louis area.
We have decided to solely represent Stannah Stairlifts because we believe in providing products with the highest in reliability and safety. We also provide the highest quality in installation by providing factory-trained technicians and relying on our nearly 25 years of experience in installing and maintaining stair lifts.
Straight stairs need to be least 27" wide (which is quite narrow).
Stairs that turn need to be a little wider; 29" is a workable minimum.
No problem! We can install a Stannah stairlift to finish level with the top landing, even on a basement staircase with a door at the top.
You'll need a regular 110 Volt outlet, ideally within 10 feet of the top or bottom of the stairs and on the same side of the stairs as the stairlift. Most stairs have a nearby outlet that can be used, but if necessary we can discuss this with your electrician.
Outdoor stairlifts need an indoor outlet, to keep the battery charger dry. We can advise on this when we come to measure the stairs.
A typical installation starts a visit to measure your stairs, assess the needs of the person using the stairlift, and identify the best stairlift and pricing option.
If your stairs make a turn we'll usually make a stairlift that fits the shape of the staircase, which means taking very accurate measurements. Stannah was the first manufacturer to develop a system for doing this using a digital camera and computer to do the measuring - it's more accurate than a tape-measure, and means that installations takes just a couple of hours.
When you decide to order your stairlift we'll usually ask you to pay a deposit, and choose the upholstery color. We accept payment by cash, check and most credit cards.
Installation usually takes two or three hours. We'll then spend as long as you need showing you how to use your new stairlift. When you're completely satisfied, we'll ask for the balance of payment.
If you need further help we have a toll-free number that has a human being on the other end, 24/7, including holidays.
We can help with the details when deciding whether to have a stairlift installed.
Let us take care of the stairs, so you can take care of the more important things in your life.
We supply both new and used stairlifts, and have short-term rentals. If you rent, we give you the option to turn your rental into a purchase within the first three months, for the same price as if you'd bought it on day one. So we can find something for almost any budget, and a good stairlift can certainly be installed for much less than the cost of selling and moving home, or remodeling your home to provide extra living-space downstairs.
For exact pricing, we normally come and take a look at your stairs, then provide you with a written quotation, without obligation.
If you no longer need your Stannah stairlift, we'll buy it back, or remove if for no charge if it's very old.
